Kremasti
A breezy beach, a famous church and a big August festival.
Kremasti sits on the north-west coast, near the airport. For most of the year it's a busy everyday village. In August it hosts one of the best-loved festivals on the island, around the feast of the Virgin Mary on the 15th.
The beach
The long, pebbly beach below the village is breezy on summer afternoons, and kitesurfers and windsurfers make the most of it.
Good to know
If your dates fit, go to the festival: music, dancing, food stalls and a fair, late into the night.
