Kallithea Springs

A restored 1920s spa, all domes, mosaics and palms, above a small swimming cove.

Pergola walkway at Kallithea Springs

The springs at Kallithea were valued for their healing water long before anyone built here. In the late 1920s the Italians added a spa: a domed rotunda, arcades, pebble mosaics and gardens of palms, set into the rocks above the sea.

Today

After years of neglect the spa was restored and reopened, and it's now one of the most photographed places on the island. Walk the arcades, have a coffee on the terrace, then swim in the cove below, where the water is clear and the rocks are good for snorkelling.

Good to know

  • There's an entrance fee
  • Sunbeds on the cove go early
  • Twenty minutes north of the villas, on the way to Rhodes Town
